ASSEMBLY AND LOADING.

Your "EZE-TOW" Tow Dolly will arrive fully assembled as indicated in the picture below. Simply lay the dolly and crate onto its side and remove the mounting bolts. The dolly can now be easily rolled out of the crate. Bolt on and wire the lights. Note that there is a left and a right light. The light bolts should be very very tight. Now use the supplied butt splices to connect the lights to the wiring on the trailer. Just match color to color. Tuck or secure any excess wiring to prevent snagging or abrasion. The lights require a 10 MM wrench. Now just drop the fenders into place and use the supplied fasteners to attache the fenders to the fender brackets. The nylock bolts are 9/16. Ok, now your ready to load your dolly. The dolly coupler must be locked onto the 2 inch ball. It is ideal that the dolly is as close to level as possible. Buy a drop receiver if necessary. The more level the dolly is the more precise the brakes will be. This dolly pictured is actually about 4 inches to high. Make sure the coupler latch is in the locked position and that the 2 inch ball is properly seated into the coupler. The dolly and truck or RV should be aligned straight. Place the ramps onto the ground up against the dolly. Align your vehicle with the dolly. The vehicle should be as close to center on the dolly as possible. Now drive up the ramps slow but steady. One foot over the brake. You really need a person on the outside guiding you and telling you when to stop. After you are on the dolly proper pull up to the front. Your tires should be touching the upright angle. Be very careful not to drive off the front of the dolly. It is a real mess to correct. Now apply the brake so the dolly cannot move or roll. Sort out your straps and apply as pictured. It is important to take the time to apply the straps correctly. It is easier if two people are doing it, but not necessary. All slack in the vertical straps and the long horizontal strap should be removed by hand before using the ratchet to tighten. The broad top strap should be centered on the tire left to right and front to back. The adjustable ring should be adjusted around the tire until it lands on the sidewall of the tire. This allows the ratchet to remain on the outside of tire thus avoiding the bumper fascia. The straps should be ratcheted down as tight as possible. If you run out of room on the ratchet spool then there was too much slack before you started. Free the strap from the ratchet and remove the slack and tighten again. Finally, apply the safety chains to  a strong part of the cars suspension . Run the safety chain thru the tie loop on the front of the dolly. Remove as much slack as you can from the chains. Place the ramps on the front of the dolly , strap them down, and you are ready to go. Make sure you free the parking the brake. Depending on the car you have you may have to turn the ramps around to place onto the loaded dolly. Some people just place the ramps into the car trunk until they need them again. It is very important to check air pressure before departing. The tires should be pumped up to 90 PSI. Never allow an inexperienced driver to to tow a loaded dolly.

Please review and place your owners manuals in a safe place for future reference.

Dolly pictured is an IDLER unit, no brakes. Disc brake pictures appear at the end.
